Kemaren sempat bermasalah dengan sound laptop Asus F9E setelah upgrade ke Ubuntu Karmic Koala. Setelah googling kesana kemari, dapat solusi disini[1].

Berikut caranya:

budiw@carbon:~$ cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 | grep Codec
Codec: Realtek ALC660-VD

Setelah dapet code soundcardnya, sekarang dimasukkan ke file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

# Power down HDA controllers after 10 idle seconds
#options snd-hda-intel power_save=10 power_save_controller=N
options snd-hda-intel model=ALC660

Yang ada tanda pagarnya itu adalah baris aslinya, terus saya tambahi model=ALC660, yang lain-lain sebaris dengan itu saya hapus.

Kemudian, di restart alsa-nya dengan
